Dragon Ball Con 2008 (AKA Otakon 2008)
'HO SNAPS YOU GUYS!!!  A bunch of us are planning a good-sized Dragon Ball cosplay group for this year's Otakon.  :DDD  I might have to put my Tetsu cosplay on the back-burner, in favor of this...which I hate to do... but we shall see.  This is my first cosplay group ever!  I can't even express how excited I am, how we all are, for this year.  (Plus, Hironobu Kageyama???  For seriously.)

My costumes are as follows:
01. KURIRIN from early DB.
02. PAN in her orange gi.

As I just decided, like, tonight, that I want to cosplay Pan, I'd like your feedback about it.  I have no clue as to who you all are cosplaying, in terms of characters from "Z", so I'm not sure where I'll fit in with everyone.  I'm sure it doesn't matter, since we can have characters spanning the entires series... but I'm just curious.  ^^  I don't want to overwhelm myself.
So, are you guys doing a specific saga or group?  My Pan might be a little random.  XD  ([info]glayish and [info]technoranma, I more-or-less know what your plans are for DBZ cosplay, but I don't really want to spoil them here.)

To [info]technoranma: Since you're doing Goku's blue gi from the beginning of the series, do you also want to have those boxes of milk bottles to carry around?  I'd love to do the turtle shells as well, but that would be a difficult undertaking, yeah?

That's about it, I think....  Oh, and I don't know [info]cobheran, but I'm dying to know who he's cosplaying!  ><

[EDIT] Since Kuririn is a definite, I'll focus on getting his outfits done.  And I'll adjust/add to my Kuririn costume list according to what arc you all are doing for later-series stuff.

On a side note, where are you staying for the con? Hotel/friend/etc?
And I'm not sure if anyone is planning to do end of Z cosplay. It was only for like 3 eps afterall XD But you will be accepted into our sexy family no matter what. I say go with your gut on what you think you can handle since it IS your first cosgroup! (They are hectic, maddening things.)

HAHA omg our hotel room is gonna be DBZ central.

Dude, I just think end-of-series Pan is adorable. ^^ (Where'd you get your shoes for your Goten cosplay, by the way?)

I'm staying at the Comfort Suites in Linthicum. It's right near the Baltimore Washington International Airport, and it's really easy to get to downtown Baltimore from there. I'm staying with Amanda, but she's not cosplaying. (><);

Where are you staying? How many of you will there be in that room? XD

Liz is the one who suggested the Driving ep, it's amazing. XDD And I got my Goten shoes in plain old china town. They usually have those slippers in bins or such for 5bucks or something. Hope you can find some ^o^

I... dunno what hotel we're in. All I know is it's the one attached to the con centre ahahahah XD; so far there's 7 of us in that room, 5 of which will be bringing DBZ cosplay. Canadian trio is bringing MULTIPLES... LOL it will be a SSJ bargain sale!!!!!!!

--!! I hate to sound like a total loser, but if you hit up NYC, let me know! I live in Queens, and I'm going cosplay shopping in april; chinatown is the big place I wanna hit for cheap fabric!

To add to Glay's comment, we'll be staying at the Hyatt. XD Our hotel room is looking like it's gonna be REALLY colorful!

A bunch of friends and I are planning on going in April (to hit up Kinokuniya and Book Off), so this'll work out! Should I wait until then to buy my fabric?

Sure, if you want! XD I usually have wednesdays and fridays off of work, and after my tax return comes in on the 11th, I'll sooo be able to get to work on costumes.

I've never been to book off.. I keep meaning to go. x_x

hahaha [info]cobheran is my former roomie and a total sweetie. I'm really exited about what he's gonna pull off, because he's a freaking cosplay master! X_X

And like Glay said, you do what makes you comfy! :D I'm doing Chichi from the Saiyan saga for Z day! We can have a big happy mismatched family photo at the end of the day. ♥

Wow... he's... wow. Awesome. Honestly, I'm all thinking, "What if he cosplays Tenshinhan.... what if he cosplays Tenshinhan..." I'd die. Just a little. And then I'd have to glomp him.

Mismatched family photo for the win!!! XD This is so bad for my sanity, because now I want to make more and more costumes... but I think I'd break down and cry if I did that. Ahaha...

I sometimes wish I could do DB cosplay, but I don't think I'd be good at it. xD For DB cosplay always seems so hard (though I have seen it done very well by Japanese cosplayers.)

Honestly, that's what I'm thinking and worrying about... but even if you think you might be not-good, it's fine to just go for it and do your best (unless you, like, choose a character who's completely unlike yourself.) DB cosplay seems like one of the tougher ones out there -- what with the CRAZY hair and stuff. But I've seen a lot of really good stuff. *points out [info]glayish and [info]technoranma)*

I heard about Hironobu Kageyama coming to Otakon. O: You guys are so lucky! The DB cosplay group sounds sooo much fun~! Be sure to take lots and lots of pictures! ^__^

UMMM the milk boxes and stuff sounds cool, but I already have to make his staff and work on imperfect CELL and stuff @_@;.. It's not really much fun to carry around props at a large con either ugh!!
